VJ spent yesterday afternoon with a group of gorgeous girls. One of them is just 1.5 months older than her so she really had a buddy to play with. Or she would if she knew how to play.
We tried to lay them down next to each other to measure them, but that wasn’t as easy as it sounds

Then we played cops and robbers and held them up at gunpoint

Since they were laying on the floor clearly suffering from post traumatic stress disorder from the robbery, we needed a doctor. So one of the older girls ran and grabbed her stethiscope.

Both girls were healed and seem to be doing fine….aside from slight vertigo and stability issues.

People are telling me that Veronica looks like a really good mix of Chris and me.
When she looks like this, they say she looks like me:

and this is when she looks like Chris:

These are from Christin’s camera and they are soooooooo cute.

Baby’s first food should be soda, right?

Love that little milk face

Got to spend time with Christin and her husband Dave this weekend!

Christin’s necklace looked just like some of Veronica’s toys, so she treated it as such. Delicious, delicious jewelry.

Dave is recovering from his second bout of horrific cancer and is going through chemotherapy again. Yet through it all he looks as gorgeous as ever!

Last night was an occasion to write down in the baby book: Veronica slept through the night without waking to eat! And it was one of my WORST NIGHTS OF SLEEP.
Between Chris waking me up to talk about board games, the baby turning on her turtle crib toy in the middle of the night, the cat begging for food, the cat begging to go outside, the cat running and jumping on our faces, and the smoke alarm going off, it was a very rough night.
Maybe after I’ve had some caffeine I will be happier about what will hopefully be the first of many nights of wonderful, continuous sleep!
In case you have us over for dinner, this is the face VJ makes when she tastes something she doesn’t like:

She scratched her face up pretty good so it was time to cut those nails (a daddy job).

Turns out this is not her favorite activity.

But that was quickly forgotten when she realized her feet had stayed with her through it all.

Update: She weighed in at 13 pounds, 12 ounces! good job little one. Ice cream sundaes all around.

Veej has her weight check scheduled this afternoon.
If she weighs at least 13 pounds, 10 oz then she is right on target for a baby with heart disease.
If she weighs at least 14 pounds, 5 oz then she is on target for a regular (ha) baby.
So anywhere in between there will be great. If she weighs less, it might be time to increase the calorie content of her formula. If she weighs more, the chances will definitely increase for her not having to have surgery until next year.
I will report back! I have a good feeling about how it’s going to go. (hoping I don’t have to eat my words later).
