Baby Skips Midnight Feeding; Lives to Eat Another Day

Last night was an occasion to write down in the baby book: Veronica slept through the night without waking to eat! And it was one of my WORST NIGHTS OF SLEEP.

Between Chris waking me up to talk about board games, the baby turning on her turtle crib toy in the middle of the night, the cat begging for food, the cat begging to go outside, the cat running and jumping on our faces, and the smoke alarm going off, it was a very rough night.

Maybe after I’ve had some caffeine I will be happier about what will hopefully be the first of many nights of wonderful, continuous sleep!

FYI

In case you have us over for dinner, this is the face VJ makes when she tastes something she doesn’t like:

Veronica Gets a Manicure

She scratched her face up pretty good so it was time to cut those nails (a daddy job).

Turns out this is not her favorite activity.

But that was quickly forgotten when she realized her feet had stayed with her through it all.

Weight Check this afternoon

Update: She weighed in at 13 pounds, 12 ounces! good job little one. Ice cream sundaes all around.

………………………………………………………………………………

Veej has her weight check scheduled this afternoon.

If she weighs at least 13 pounds, 10 oz then she is right on target for a baby with heart disease.

If she weighs at least 14 pounds, 5 oz then she is on target for a regular (ha) baby.

So anywhere in between there will be great. If she weighs less, it might be time to increase the calorie content of her formula. If she weighs more, the chances will definitely increase for her not having to have surgery until next year.

I will report back! I have a good feeling about how it’s going to go. (hoping I don’t have to eat my words later).

Battle of the Babies

Let’s get ready to rumble!

You started it!

Shut your yap!

ok, let’s call a truce

Pics from Yesterday

Nigel is so huge he looks photoshopped into this picture. But I assure you my skill limit is set to MS Paint.

You saw it here first folks! She is starting to practice sitting on her own. She’s grabbing the side of her changing pad with the grip of the jaws of life, but it’s a good start. Though she looks a bit unsure of the whole thing.

And here she is enjoying her two favorite toys: her blue elephant and her foot.

An Odd Way to Fall Asleep

I think the dear child has chosen her foot as her lovie.

A Bit Wobbly

Veronica is doing better at learning how to sit:

But all it takes is one wrong move for this to happen:

Baby on Beard

Veronica experiences a new hair color and a texture she has never felt before:

What Did Veronica Do This Weekend?

Shared some quality time with mom:

Made some small talk with an older gent:

Started to show some interest in real food. (or plates):

Had some laughs with a very good friend:

Got in some pouts on the couch:

And spent the rest of the time unhappily planted with her face on the floor:
