Baby is bulking up! Chris took Veronica to her 4 month pedi appointment today. She is staying in the 25-30% weight range and everyone is all smiles and high fives about it. I love that now when people see her, the first thing they say is no longer about how small she is. Now it’s about how magnificently beautiful she is and how much she resembles her mother in that way. Well at any rate it’s nice to have her be less six-packy and more baby-fatty.
And for height she is now 85th percentile. No wonder we have so much trouble with pants.
We see the cardiologist next Thursday.

Oh, also, regarding my post below about the crib quandry: the pedi said get the sleep positioner out, let the baby roam, and stop drawing diagrams.
well done veej - and what does the percentile thing mean again, i never know. is it better to be higher or lower?
hee hee hee hee hee hee heeheehee….
SO HAPPY to hear the appt went well, even though she’s not thrilled with having had shots (Chris answererd your phone.)
way to go with the weight percentile!
percentiles aren’t bad or good, it just means that she is taller than 85% of other babies her age. Basically they should remain on the same curve as they grow, which is why her weight dropping was a big deal. It wasn’t that she weighed too little, cuz there’s lots of babies who weigh less than her. It was that she was dropping in percentiles, not staying on the same arc, signifying that something was wrong.
oh also girls and boys have different growth charts. So it really means she is taller than 85% of other girls her age. She would be a lot lower on a boy chart.
Nice work - who needs Hans & Frans when Mommy’s here to PUMP! You up!
We’ve got the Long & Lean thing going on over here, too - pants are tough and most of Milo’s are falling off his skinny waist. Hanna Anderssen seems to work well if you can (a) find stuff on sale, because otherwise you’d have to sell Veej to be able to afford the clothes for her; and (b) figure out the funky Euro sizing. I like Daily Tea from Tea Collection, too, also on super-duper-clearance sale only. I guess the kid-clothing people think that only rich celebrity moms have tall, skinny babies.
lil’ wiggler’s blog is funny AND educational.
We have the same problem with AK. She’s long and lean (she clearly gets the lean part from her dad, but I have NO CLUE where the long part comes from). The good thing about cloth diapering is that we can go up a size in pants for length and the bulk of the diaper keeps her pants up
It does get a little tiresome hearing “But she’s so TINY” all the time. She’s perfect to me.
